• Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD

EBD is an automobile brake technology that automatically varies the amount of force applied to each of a vehicle’s brakes, based on road conditions, speed, loading etc. Always coupled with anti-lock braking systems, EBD can apply more or less braking pressure to each wheel in order to maximize stopping power whilst maintaining vehicular control.
  • Rear Display Camera (EX and LTD Models)

The rear view mirror uses an inconspicuous 130-degree rear-mounted camera to determine risk factors behind you when reversing. Guidelines are also displayed to give further assistance whilst reversing. The mirror also has electrochromic function which automatically dims headlight glare from vehicle following.
  • Electronic Stability Programme

Rated by the NHTSA as what could be the greatest safety innovation since the safety belt, ESP compares the movement of your car with steering-wheel inputs. If there is any tendency to slide or skid, the system is designed to brake one or more of the wheels and, if necessary, reduce the engine power. The NHTSA has reported that passenger vehicles have a 30% reduction in fatal single vehicle crashes when equipped with ESP.
  • Reverse warning sensors

Reversing sensors are an audio aid that makes a beeping noise as the driver gets closer to an object. Once the driver is dangerously close to the object a solid flat beep will occur thereby reducing the risk of a collision with an object behind them.
  • Seatbelt pretensioners

Seatbelt pretensioners preemptively tighten the seatbelt in the event of collision to prevent the occupant from jerking forward during a crash. In addition they lower the risk of the occupant “submarining” which is when the passenger slides forward under a loosely worn seatbelt.
  • Dual Front, Side and Curtain Airbags

Kia fits airbags on all it’s passenger vehicle range. A necessary aid in an accident, these create an instant pillow to cushion the driver in serious impacts. When fitted side and curtain airbags further protect the driver in Rollover and side impact situations.
