Incorporates a steering assist system to provide effective braking in asymmetrical braking situations, for example when one side of the car loses traction on a wet or slippery surface.

Body structure

Enhanced passenger protection is provided through an energy absorbing structure that minimises damage from a side impact. The Soul features enhanced stiffness in the roof and centre pillar, optimal location of door beams, and a reinforced side sill made with ultra-high tensile steel.

Active headrests

The active headrests move forwards and upwards within milliseconds of impact to cushion the head and prevent whiplash. (Optional) disc brake 15.PSD

Hill-start Assist Control

Using HAC, braking is sustained for two seconds during the brake-to-drive transition to improve driving stability and prevent roll-back and slipping which could endanger the vehicle and other road users.

Rear parking assist system

The bumper-mounted 3-stage proximity sensors help prevent collisions when reversing by identifying objects or obstructions and emitting an audible warning signal.

Electronic Stability Control

Rated by the NHTSA as what could be the greatest safety innovation since the safety belt, ESP compares the movement of your car with steering-wheel inputs. If there is any tendency to slide or skid, the system is designed to brake one or more of the wheels and, if necessary, reduce the engine power. The NHTSA has reported that passenger vehicles have a 30% reduction in fatal single vehicle crashes when equipped with ESP.
