Kia believes that community involvement is a natural extension of corporate social responsibility as an active member of the community. In our view, the community must be healthy in order for sustainable development to be successful.

In 2005, Kia started a community initiative, “Moving Together with the World”, to move towards a better future with neighbours and the greater community. Kia’s community activities encouraged future-oriented activities such as social welfare, environmental preservation, next-generation growth support, cultural arts, healthy living promotion and international exchange programs.

Here in New Zealand, Kia operates, The Road and Traffic Education Centre (RTEC) which caters for driver safety education, driver training and community road safety initiatives.

We also support "Cure Kids", the face of the Child Health Research Foundation – an organisation established over 30 years ago to address the lack of research into life-threatening childhood illnesses in New Zealand.

Through these and other programmes, Kia employees have volunteered their time and energy to reach out and serve the community. Every part of the organization, internally and externally, has taken an active part in the effort to make sustainable development successful.
