- Kia Rio launched as a great alternative to medium or large vehicle
- Kia Pregio van becomes Kia's biggest selling model in New Zealand
- Kia Sorento introduced and quickly becomes Kia's flagship vehicle
2004
- Kia Motors corporation (KMC) takes over as official Kia NZ distributor
- Kia Cerato released
2005
- A very busy year for the Kia line-up with the introduction of the new Rio and Sorento diesel
- Kia sells over 1,600 new vehicles
2006
- Again another big release year with the introduction of the Picanto, new Carnival and the Magentis which subsequently is awarded the title of the Medium Car of the Year by Autocar Magazine
- Kia again breaks it's own sales record selling over 2,300 new vehicles
2007
- Kia releases the all new Carens model which immediately gains award winning recognition
- Kia continues it's winning trend and sells over 2,400 new vehicles
2008
- Kia becomes naming sponsor of the Devonport Food and Wine Festival
- Kia becomes a major sponsor of the Speights Coast to Coast Adventure Race
- Kia releases all new Picanto
- Kia becomes a major sponsor of the ASB Tennis Classic & Vehicle sponsors of the Heineken Open for 2009
